I love the fact that being a wedding photographer allows me to travel to places in this beautiful country away from my home. That I get to see and experience life with peers and families with a different landscape. That is any photographer, but the special thing about shooting weddings, is that I get to experience and share in the happiest day in a families life. No matter what city or state, beach or countryside, when I show up at a wedding, there are always smiles and laughs, tears and joy. Sure there is the stress of making sure things are running on time, and guests are tended to, but the overwhelming relief, giant smile, and burst of happiness that happens when the officiant pronounces the couple married, is second to none. I love that moment, and this weekend was no different.
The Niehoff and Losack families put together such a beautiful event for their children at the gorgeous Amadeus Ranch. Samantha was absolutely stunning in her beaded gown from Gracies Bridal. It looked as if it was cut just for her, while Juli of Juli Ellis Professional Makeup Artist perfected the most beautiful makeup to compliment Hannah Sparks’ Hair Design. Sam and Seth’s choice of Gray for the tuxedoes made the purple florals from Mt. Vernon Greenhouse pop so elegantly.
The Niehoff family did not miss a single detail in creating a dream wedding for their daughter, from the custom invitations from Extreme Vinyl, to the gorgeous cakes from Small Cakes. Did I mention the Grooms cake? It was perfect for this farming family, and it tasted even better than its gorgeous design looked. The detail was truly awesome!
But my favorite…my favorites are always those small moments that last forever. The ones that make me tear up. The moment when Mr. Niehoff looked over the balcony at the decorated room noticing what all came together for his only daughter….or when Seth’s mom Christine saw Seth all dressed up in his Tux for the first time…or when Mrs. Niehoff zipped Sam in her dress. These moments make me cry. These moments are special and will be remembered when these two lovebirds grow up. When Samantha opened Seth’s card and gorgeous necklace and couldn’t help but let real tears fall. There is no doubt in my mind at the power of these moments. Moments that might not mean a whole bunch when you are in your early twenties. So when I snapped a picture of Seth outside looking over the rolling hills with his dad, at the cows grazing, sharing a calm minute to themselves and a beer, I knew that this was one of those moments. This was what it was all about. Those moments drive me, and I’m so incredible grateful that Samantha and Seth picked me.
I hope I was able to document their day in a way that brings them back to those moments. The love, the dancing, the family and the fun…..Remember it all fondly and move into this next chapter of your life knowing how many people are behind you and support you. Including us 🙂 Thank you to Nicole and Russell Niehoff, and to Christine and Matt Losack for allowing us to be a part of this time in your families’ lives. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Samantha and Seth Losack. We wish you all the happiness and success the world can offer you!! Cheers to love, laughs and life!!
