With the current political climate dominating the web, there is no better distraction than love. Scratch that….there is something better…..there’s pure love….love that’s intellectual and engaging. These days, even the word ‘love” seems cliche, but with Kelsey and Hythem it’s different. They exude a feeling that is like no other…one that brings you in and makes you feel like you have been a part of their inner circle forever. They respect each other in a way that makes the other beam with pride. They are honest, they are kind, they are thoughtful. They take time to not only speak to you, but to really listen. They carry themselves with grace and dignity, yet are always laughing at inside jokes with their closest friends. Autumn and I are truly grateful that the brides and grooms that pick us are ones that are warm in spirit and true to themselves. These are the best weddings. These are unions that will last.
Kelsey and Hythem have been life long loves. They went to high school and college together. They are University of Wisconsin grads who love all things UW! Hythem even proposed on the UW football field. They knew there was no other place they would have their wedding, but in Madison, Wisconsin and boy was that the perfect choice! All of the events were held at the Madison Concourse Hotel, right in the middle of Madison, directly next to the amazing Capital building. The hotel staff was kind and accommodating. Kelsey looked like royalty in her perfectly appointed dress from designer Kpoene Kofi-Nicklin. It was romantic and classy and Hythem’s traditional elegance was the perfect fit. Kelsey’s sister, and maid of honor, Lindsay did the flawless makeup, and the gorgeous loose braid hair design was compliments of Anastasia Tomala. The florals from Petal Play Design were breathtaking…sturdy and delicate all at the same time.
Guests arrived from all over the world for wedding weekend with excitement and joy. The ceremony was a small gathering of close family, and there was not a dry eye in there. The speeches were personal, and heartfelt and reflected exactly their personalities.
Then off to take pictures around Madison, at all of their favorite spots on campus. It was like a walk through their story and THAT is always my favorite part! We returned to the Madison Concourse Hotel for a fabulous cocktail hour with all of the guests looking fabulous. It was warm and cozy with guests enjoying cocktails and company by the fireplace before finding their way upstairs to the ballroom. There were signature drinks, and amazing appetizers. Anyone who knows this couple, knows the food was going to be on point!
The reception was full of family and friends waiting to celebrate. Sound By Design had the dance floor absolutely FILLED the entire evening. There was cultural music and dancing, as well as current party hits. It was so fun that it didn’t end when the reception ended….There just HAD to be an after party and the after party was a hit! Thank you to the Abad and Schroeder families for being so loving and gracious. This wedding is one we will not only remember, but cherish, and it is because of the people.
To Kelsey and Hythem…we are so happy that you two have found each other. We are proud to know you, we are proud to have been a part of such an amazing, personal display of kindness, compassion and love. We are thankful to have been on this journey together and wish you only great things to come. Cheers to a life of love, laughter, happiness and good food! 🙂 xoxoxo Autumn and Melin
