So we took a break from blogging and social media for anything A&M Photography related over the winter months. You might ask why? You might wonder because in this day and age, if your business isn’t on social media multiple times a day…if you aren’t blogging immediately…if you aren’t getting published every weekend….then your business must be crap. It will go nowhere and you won’t get clients. Why? Because socially you don’t exist. It became a little exhausting to us to keep up with the “pretending you aren’t marketing when you’re posting but you really are”. It seemed so fake and not the type of photographers we were, or wanted to be. Anyone who knows us, or who has hired us knows that we truly are interested in shooting the dynamic between families, the chemistry between brides and grooms and the smiles that come from the enjoyment of being with friends and family. The word “authentic” in the photography world has become such a buzzword that it really has lost it’s meaning. Autumn and I truly wanted to get back to that. We wanted to spend time with our own families. The true reason we do this job is to have the flexibility to be as present with our little ones as we possibly can, while they grow. So we took a break and did just that. We want to practice what we preach. We want to have our family time captured. We want our kids to have pictures of us at this time in their lives. We want to be true to ourselves and not let ourselves get so wrapped up in social media that we forget to actually enjoy the moment. We want to get away from the thought that….if you don’t post about it, did it really happen? So here is part one of us getting back to our truth. Here is the Connaughton crew. True to who they are….and happy to be together…always.
