Well…I did it. I have reached my goal. I challenged myself to write a Best of 2014 blog post sometime in the month of January. Yes, I completely get that it’s the last day of the month, but I MADE IT! That might not seem like a big deal to most, but in the 40 days I have managed…with a little help from my friends;)…to pack up my 3 guys, make it through many MANY emotional goodbyes, find a home 1200 miles away, enroll the kids in school, get them signed up for sports, help them to not feel like fish out of water, unpack my photography equipment and not miss one single bride/groom facetime. Somewhere in there I managed a couple of hours of sleep too! Moving to Florida has allowed my boys and I to reunite with Bob.. Autumn and I to expand our business, and enjoy more parts of this amazing country. While it is intense and scary at times to move out of my comfort zone…well WAY out of my comfort zone…it is also such an amazing opportunity for growth and that is exciting!
2014 has been an amazing year. Autumn and I have met and connected with some of the sweetest, down to earth, genuine couples. We were able to share in the most important times of their lives and that is a gift…that is the greatest gift! We have connected with florists, and videographers, and djs, and coordinators. We have met these people through this industry, but now consider most of them not just colleagues but friends. It is truly a blessing to be able to do something you love every day…to create art…to document memories, for wonderful people who trust you with their most precious possessions….their friends, their families, their love.
The photos below are more than just a collection of images. They are a photo diary that just makes my heart smile! Scratch that…it makes my heart BEAM! I know that’s the dorkiest thing to say, but I’ve never claimed to be the coolest cat 🙂 Reflecting on 2014 reaffirms my faith in love, in romance, in friendship, and all of the things that are good in this world. Weddings and engagements signify new beginnings, fresh starts and bright attitudes. They remind us that the sky’s not even the limit. If you have love in your life, you can accomplish anything! You can even move to Florida…you can survive…and you can thrive 🙂
I have to say the most heartfelt “Thank You” to all of the thoughtful people who have referred us to brides and grooms that they know. Who have without question been the driving force that has made Autumn and Melinda Photography the success it is today. We are so lucky to have this new year filled with amazing couples, our beyond-wonderful friends, and our big-crazy-all up in your business-give it to you straight- love you no matter what family. As for the Green family in 2015…we have our health, our family unit back together and the beautiful sunshine. The possibilities are endless!
Cheers to the New Year!! xoxoxo
